Taylor Spencer
(she/her)
Current Title: Researcher
Former Role: PhD Student
I am an 8th-year PhD candidate, and my dissertation, titled "Exploring Stress, Allostatic Load, and Disparities in Black Womxn's Reproductive Health," dives into the intersections of chronic stress, allostatic load, and reproductive health disparities. My current career interests include working in local/state government or non-profit sectors to create and implement programs targeting health disparities.
I'm passionate about education and outreach and currently serve as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where I teach "Health Under Pressure: Stress and Being Black in America.” I'm also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the National Urban League Young Professionals, and the Black Science Coalition and Institute.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my son, lifting weights, diving into true crime documentaries or podcasts, and indulging in desserts—especially chocolate and ice cream. For more about my work and what I'm up to, connect with me on LinkedIn!
